About Drama

Drama is located on the area of the north-eastern edge of Greece. It is a friendly and peaceful place surrounded by mountains, plains, beautiful forests, tobacco fields, wineries, rivers and streams too.

The city (150km away from Thessaloniki airport) is ideal for weekend breaks. Its picturesque centre is dotted with vibrant cafes, restaurants and bars, many of them lining the Agia Varvara turquoise springs.Drama lies on the slopes of the mountain Falakro, where some of the best paragliding and skiing in Greece can be enjoyed.

The wider region of Drama with its natural wonders provides a wide range of outdoor activities and is best explored by car as the highlights are relatively widespread. Apart from skiing and paragliding some other Top Outdoor Activities are: visiting wineries, walking through the lush forests, spotting the rare and endemic flora and fauna, sailing, rafting, scuba diving.

If you’re looking for somewhere unspoilt, this region has plenty to offer, although with major developments on the horizon such as the opening of Hydrama (first 5-star hotel) chances are this may not be Greece’s secret for much longer.

About me

My name is Ioannis Pistikos (CIVL ID 12039). After 10 years of flying XC and taking part in many competitions i decided to turn my hobby into business.I provide paragliding services to all pilots who want to visit my friendly town enjoy beautiful flights above the region's mountains and hospitality.The only thing you need is an air ticket to Thessaloniki Airport(SKG) and you are done.The rest is arranged by me.Prices depending from the dates, the number of pilots, the residence period and the accommodation expectations.Contact with me and we will customize the holidays together.

Spot guidance

There are six main takeoffs around Drama.PWC took place here at 2010 from Pirgi takeoff.You can see them HERE.

The names are :

1) Korilovos South

2) Korilovos East

3) Pirgi-Petrousa

4) Panagia-Kefalari

5) Paggaio South

6) Paggaio North.

We choose takeoff depending the weather conditions and what kind of flight we want to do.

Paragliding trips

I can organize trips to other paragliding spots in Greece where we can fly from popular takeoffs and enjoy different landscapes.For instance Ioannina, Konitsa, Deskati, Edessa, Trikala, mount Olympus.

Accommodation

Two deluxe apartments are available at the center of the city with reasonable prices and hotels with special discount for paragliding pilots.Booking is arranged from me after personal communication.

Comp task training

It is possible to set some easy tasks(routes) and try to complete it.You will receive all the necessary help from me to set up the task to your GPS and guiding how to take the waypoints and make goal.

Alternative activities

At no flyable days it is possible to arrange some other activities.We can go for nature excursions, rafting, sailing or scuba diving of course under conciliation.There is also available a motorbike for someone who wants to ride.

Pilot licence, IPPI card, insurance, certified glider, harness, reserve parachute, VHF radio, GPS, smartphone, livetrack24 account.
